It all started on New Year’s Eve 2019, when fate (and a little good timing) brought us together. Lexie was grabbing a quick bite on her way to a party, while Matt — after many lively New Year’s celebrations over the years — was embracing a quieter night in, ready for a new chapter.

Matt spotted Lexie across the restaurant, introduced himself, and struck up a quick conversation while they waited for their food. In a twist of fate, they discovered they lived on the same street where Lexie’s childhood home still stands today. Though the interaction was brief — just a few minutes — Matt felt a spark. He waited for Lexie to get her food so he could catch her on the way out and ask for her number. While he was tempted to invite her out right then and there, he waited and called soon after to plan a proper first date.

Upon meeting Lexie, Matt had a quiet but certain feeling that there was something special there. Little did either of them know, that simple conversation would change both of their lives forever.

At first, Matt introduced himself simply as "Matt Del," and while Lexie thought he was handsome and sweet, she couldn’t quite picture herself as "Alexis Del." Once she learned his full name — Matthew David Dalesandro — that it all felt like a real-life fairytale. Suddenly, the future "Mrs. Dalesandro" had a pretty nice ring to it.

Since that night, their story has been filled with adventure, laughter, and countless shared moments. Whether they’re exploring new cities, trying the next must-visit restaurant, cooking a favorite meal together, or spending time with the family and friends they love most, Matt and Lexie have built a life full of joy and connection.

In October 2024, Matt proposed to Lexie in the most magical way — with a custom-made ring on the rooftop of their hotel overlooking Central Park. It was Lexie’s very first time in New York City, and after saying “yes,” they spent the night running around the city, grabbing pizza, visiting Grand Central Station, and soaking in every unforgettable moment.

Now, they can’t wait to continue their greatest adventure yet — as husband and wife — surrounded by all of the people who have been part of their journey.
